That as just, I don’t know, there’s just this kind of no go zone around men and dads and emotions and their hearts and these kind of things. We don’t have to, we don’t have to, you know, do anything all kind of crazy. But if we just pull up threads around that a little bit, all of us together, makes it makes some room both for understanding everybody else in the system you’re working with. And, yeah, and I think it’s, I hope it’s both meaningful and impactful and also productive for people to come and check out, yeah. And

I think what you’re talking about doing it in a group, you know, where people, there’s, some people might not be too gung ho on it, but they can sort of sit back, and then as the other people do it all of a sudden, it’s it’s not as scary, it’s not as well. That’s not for me. Everyone can sort of learn from each other and go through the experience altogether,

100% and anybody who comes doesn’t have speak up, they can just, you can just chill. Nobody’s

okay. This has been fun and informative and a good preview of what what’s in stone Halifax, and unfortunately, we need to start to wrap up now. As usual, we have two final questions for our guests, so gonna ask you for a book recommendation and one piece of advice. And so can you give us a book recommendation?
1:20
Yeah, I would say a book called Adam’s return by an author named Richard Rohr. The subtitle is the five promises of male initiation, if anybody has an interest in fatherhood or masculinity, through the lens of what it actually takes to grow up and be a healthy, mature man. I think this is an incredible, incredible starting place. So Adams returned by Richard Rohr, okay,

cool. We’ll put a link to that in this show notes. Now, one piece of advice that you have out there, I guess, from one father to all the other fathers out there,
1:59
yeah, it would just be that I’ve worked with 1000s and 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of men, and the biggest pattern that I’ve ever seen that men wanted more of from their father was simply to be let in and to know what their world was actually like, and to have a sense of who their dad really is and what he’s really going through. So any dad out there, I mean, this goes to anybody, but specifically for dads out there, you will be happy with the results if you slow down and try on being more forthright with your kids and those around you, let them in. Let them know what you’re struggling with. Let them know what it’s actually like, and it will benefit them but but you will also receive the massive benefit of being less of an island to yourself. And try it on. Try that on. Let

them in. I love it. Fantastic. Dan Dody, thanks again for joining us and sharing your views and your insights with our audience, and look forward to seeing you in a couple of months in Halifax.
